Mr. Malaythong Kommasith, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), accompanied by Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to Vientiane visited Thai Pipeline Network Co., Ltd. (TPN)’s oil pipeline transportation system and oil terminal in Khon Kaen to learn about its oil pipeline transportation system and oil terminal management. The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Natthanon Chatkaeo, Managing Director of Thai Pipeline Network Co., Ltd. (TPN), along with executives from the PTT Group, including Mr. Pirun Krimwongrat, Executive Vice President, Downstream Petroleum Business Group Strategy, PTT Public Company Limited; Mr. Songpol Thepnumsommanus, Executive Vice President, International Business, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR); Mr. Piman Poolsri, Executive Vice President, Oil Retail Business, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR); Mr. Peravej Na Ranong, Managing Director of PTT (Lao) Company Limited (PTT LAO); Mr. Somkiat Sutthivanit, Senior Executive Vice President, Accounting and Finance, Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO); and Mr. Prasit Laohiraphap, Senior Executive Vice President, Domestic Business Development, Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO). The visit aimed to study TPN’s oil pipeline transportation system and oil terminal management, one of Thailand’s key energy infrastructure facilities, and exchange knowledge on energy infrastructure management to enhance cooperation and support the development of energy logistics systems between Thailand and the Lao PDR.

Thai Pipeline Network Co., Ltd. (TPN) operates a 342-kilometer oil pipeline connecting Saraburi and Khon Kaen, with an annual throughput capacity of more than 7.3 billion liters and a total storage capacity of 157 million liters. Operating in accordance with international safety standards, the pipeline serves as a key component of Thailand’s energy infrastructure by enhancing transportation efficiency, reducing logistics costs, and strengthening the country’s energy security. PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR) has invested in Thai Pipeline Network Co., Ltd. (TPN) through Modulus Venture Co., Ltd., acquiring a 55.41% stake with a total investment of up to THB 2.2 billion. The investment is intended to strengthen energy logistics capabilities, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and road transportation accidents, support the growth of OR’s mobility business in Northeastern Thailand, and facilitate petroleum product exports to the Lao PDR. The visit marks another important milestone in showcasing the strength of Thailand’s energy infrastructure and further advancing bilateral cooperation for sustainable growth.
