Environmental Management

Importance

                According to Global Risks Report 2025 published by World Economic Forum, environmental-related risks are ranked among the global risks with the highest likelihood of long-term severity. These include ranked first, Extreme Weather Events; ranked second, Biodiversity Loss and Ecosystem Collapse; ranked third, Critical Change to Earth Systems; ranked fourth, Natural Resource Shortages; and ranked tenth, Pollution that has accumulated continuously over time.
                Therefore, OR places strong emphasis on systematic environmental management to ensure that business growth progresses in parallel with responsibility toward society, communities, and the environment in a sustainable manner. OR aims to minimize environmental impacts across all stages of operations, ranging from raw material sourcing, production, and transportation, through to the delivery of quality products and services to customers.
                In addition, OR has systematically identified and assessed environmental aspects arising from its operations, such as water, wastewater, waste, oil and chemical spills, and volatile organic compounds, in order to understand both direct and indirect impacts that may result from OR’s activities. These assessments are used to develop management plans as well as control measures to continuously reduce impacts to acceptable levels.

2025 Targets

Management Approach

            OR has established an environmental management system in accordance with the Quality, Security, Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental (QHSE) Policy OR conducts an annual policy review, taking into account both internal and external factors including global trends, directives from PTT Group and OR, peer reviews and benchmarking, stakeholder engagement, and other relevant considerations. The company aims to mitigate and prevent environmental impacts throughout the value chain by maximizing the benefit of natural resources using, in line with the principles of the Bio-Circular-Green Economy, while adhering to waste and pollution control regulations that may affect the environment. OR also applies an Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) across OR’s establishments, all of which have been certified in accordance with ISO 14001 by external certification bodies.
            OR sets annual environmental performance targets that align with the corporate goal or OR 2030 Goals under the Healthy Environment dimension. This target has the objective to create a sustainable environment by increasing renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and decreasing waste generated from business operations by more than one-third compared to the year 2022. This includes the implementation of the Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment Management System.
            In 2024–2025, OR developed the OR ESG Data Platform, a sustainability data management system covering environmental, social, and governance dimensions, to drive the centralization of OR’s sustainability data collection. The platform incorporates a multi-level data approval process by supervisors at various levels to ensure that environmental, social, and governance data are accurate, transparent, and traceable (Data Governance).
            In addition, Quality, Security, Health, Safety, and Environment targets (QSHE Targets) have been established to control and reduce environmental impacts across OR’s establishments in both the oil business and the retail business. The Sustainability, Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Department monitors environmental performance and utilizes the data for analysis to further enhance OR’s environmental management processes.
            In addition, OR has established and developed standards for PTT Station (Service Station Standard) and LPG filling plants, which include environmental management requirements such as waste management and wastewater management. These standards are communicated to customers and PTT Station dealers, as well as LPG filling plants. Furthermore, there is regular inspection and evaluation of the environmental operations of PTT Stations managed by OR.
OR has established a policy to promote education and training of employees and raise awareness on the environment following the QSHE Policy. OR conducted overall training courses in environmental management as shown in the following:

      1. Basic Environment for Employee, delivered in an e-learning format, enables all OR employees to undertake the training independently through the OR LMS. The program aims to provide employees with fundamental knowledge of environmental management in establishments.
      2. The online training program “Insight ISO 14001: 2015” aims to enhance participants’ understanding of the requirements of ISO 14001:2015, an environmental management standard adopted by many organizations, including OR.
      3. The “Data Internal Verification” training program, conducted by experts in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) disclosure framework, aims to equip participants with an understanding of organizational environmental data collection, consolidation, and reporting processes, as well as basic methods for verifying data accuracy. This is to ensure that reported data is accurate prior to verification by independent assurance providers and subsequent public disclosure.
      4. Training on the use of the OR ESG Data Platform is provided to ensure that employees responsible for recording OR’s sustainability data understand the data collection requirements for each indicator, be able to analyze data, and can record information accurately and comprehensively in line with internationally recognized reporting standards.

              OR operates under strictly compliance and environmental management requirements . And conducts regular assessments of legal compliance in relation to QSHE. Relevant departments record their compliance results in the QSHE – Legal Compliance Management system, and department managers review and endorse the assessment outcomes. The consolidated results are then summarized and presented at the OR Group Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Management Committee (OR QSHE GMC) meeting, reinforcing OR’s commitment to conducting business responsibly, transparently, and in continuous alignment with quality and safety.

Performance

              Due to the strong commitment to complying with environmental management regulations and requirements , there were no instances of violations of environmental laws and regulations in OR’s operations across all businesses in 2025.
                1. In 2025, OR received a total of five EIA Monitoring Awards 2025 in the transportation category from the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning. The awards comprised:

      • Three Excellence Awards, granted to the Songkhla Petroleum Terminal, Phuket Oil Depot, and Surat Thani Petroleum Terminal; and
      • Two Outstanding Awards, granted to the Bang Chak Petroleum Terminal and the Second Surat Thani Petroleum Terminal.

                The continued receipt of these awards reflects OR’s strong commitment and determination to strictly comply with the mitigation measures specified in the EIA reports. OR places great emphasis on environmentally friendly operations across all processes to ensure that its business activities do not cause adverse environmental impacts, while also fostering confidence in environmental quality among customers, business partners and suppliers, society, and local communities on an ongoing basis.
