Bangkok, 10 November 2025 –Vietjet Thailand (VZ), in collaboration with PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) collaboration, marking a significant step toward driving the aviation industry toward the “Net Zero” goal. The agreement reinforces Vietjet Thailand’s position as the first low-cost carrier in the region to pioneer the use of SAF on commercial flights, reducing carbon emissions and promoting long-term environmental sustainability. The collaboration also extends the airline’s core mission under its Fly Green Fund, with plans to launch additional “Green Routes” within the first quarter of 2026 namely, the ‘Bangkok–Cam Ranh’ route and further expanding the use of SAF for all flights on the ‘Bangkok–Da Nang’ route. The MOU signing ceremony was recently held at Energy Complex Building B, 17th floor, Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Chatuchak, Bangkok.
Mr. Pichit Jearkittimasak, Chief Financial Officer of Vietjet Thailand, together with Mr. Paisan Udomkulwanich, Senior Executive Vice President, Energy Solutions Business, OR, represented the two companies to sign the MOU on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) collaboration. This partnership follows the success of their joint feasibility study on SAF utilization in 2024, which culminated in Vietjet Thailand’s first commercial flight on the Bangkok – Da Nang route on 11 July 2024, operated from Suvarnabhumi International Airport, with OR supplying SAF for the flight. The initiative marked a key milestone in driving Thailand’s green aviation efforts under the “Fly Green” concept into tangible progress.
“This collaboration with OR aims to jointly advance aviation sustainability by promoting and developing clean energy solutions for aircraft, minimizing environmental impact, and supporting the transition to alternative energy in the future. In addition to OR’s SAF supply for Vietjet Thailand’s commercial operations, both organizations are also exploring extended collaboration in other dimensions of clean energy for long-term aviation development. Vietjet Thailand remains committed to continuously reducing carbon emissions and targets to increase SAF usage to no less than 5% of total fuel consumption by 2030, in line with the global aviation industry’s Net Zero vision”, saidMr. Pichit Jearkittimasak, Chief Financial Officer of Vietjet Thailand.
Mr. Paisan Udomkulwanich, Senior Executive Vice President, Energy Solutions Business, OR, stated: “OR is proud to serve as a key partner in supplying Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to Vietjet Thailand, marking another important milestone for Thailand’s aviation industry on its journey towards a cleaner and more sustainable future. Under this collaboration, OR will provide sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for Thai Vietjet’s commercial flights on a continual basis. Most recently, the airline has expanded its use of SAF to regular flights between Suvarnabhumi and Phu Quoc. Throughout this partnership, Thai Vietjet has consistently demonstrated its genuine commitment to adopting SAF for commercial operations—beginning with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in May 2024, followed by the launch of its first international SAF-powered flight between Bangkok and Da Nang in July 2024. Vietjet Thailand is among the leading airlines in Thailand placing strong emphasis on environmental responsibility and taking concrete action toward sustainability. OR remains committed to developing energy innovations and providing comprehensive energy solutions to support business partners in their transition toward clean energy. Together, we aim to build a truly sustainable energy ecosystem in Thailand and drive the nation’s low-carbon economy forward with confidence and resilience.”
For over six years, Vietjet Thailand has continuously implemented environmental initiatives under its Fly Green Fund, which aims to conserve the environment and promote a greener society through activities at both organizational and community levels. These efforts are made possible through the collaboration of passengers, airline employees, and partners across sectors.
